Love is unselfishly choosing for the highest good of another. Romans 5:7 says, “But God demonstrates his own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” There is not a better display of love in human history than the truth about what Jesus has done for sinners like you and me. Jesus is God’s character expressed. What Jesus did for us through His life, death, and resurrection is the ultimate display of love.
Without understanding and obeying Christ out of love, we will fall short when trying to love others. The love of God compels us to change and let the power of the Holy Spirit move through us. Receiving and having a proper understanding God’s love for us is the first step to truly love others around us. Have questions about the love of God? Read the words of Jesus.
